About
Civics Education in the Eleventh Circuit
The Eleventh Circuit Civics Site was created to educate the public, and especially students and teachers, about the United States Courts and Constitution.
According to the American Bar Association's 2021 Survey of Civic Literacy, Americans showed little increased knowledge over the last year about the basics of U.S. democracy including concepts such as separation of powers and the rights contained in the Bill of Rights. The survey questions were based on questions from the current U.S. Naturalization Test.
The Committee
The Eleventh Circuit Civics Education Committee was created in 2021 and seeks to improve civic literacy of the public through the development of high-quality civics education about the U.S. judiciary. The committee maintains this site as a clearinghouse for local program listings, distance learning resources, and other civics education information. We encourage you to check the site frequently for updates and civics education news.
As citizens of this democracy, you are the rulers and the ruled, the lawgivers and the law-abiding, the beginning and the end.
